Americans voted to bring change to Washington, electing Sen. Barack Obama the nation's first black president and increasing the Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate.

The results were a major rebuke to the Republicans who must now define their role as the opposition party.

So what does the road ahead look like for the coming Obama administration? How does the GOP respond? And might we expect from the president-elect?
