Obama campaign says Web response to pick of Biden has been strong
Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign says it has a couple figures that point to a strong, positive response from supporters to the news that he chose Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate:
• By about mid-afternoon, campaign spokesman Bill Burton says, more than $1.8 million had been contributed online since the Biden news broke.
• The candidates' rally in Springfield, Ill., drew more than 48,000 unique viewers to the campaign's "live-streaming."
