A new McCain ad is sharply critical of Obama's tax policies.
A new McCain ad is sharply critical of Obama's tax policies.

(CNN) — John McCain's campaign launched a new ad Thursday that sharply criticizes Barack Obama's tax policies.

The ad, which also continues the campaign’s effort to paint the Illinois senator as a mere celebrity, says Obama's tax policies will lead to an "economic disaster."

"Obama's new taxes could break your family budget," the ad's announcer says. "Higher taxes. Higher gas prices. Economic disaster."

The campaign says the 30-second spot, called Taxman, will air in "key states."

Obama has proposed cutting taxes on middle-income Americans while raising those for families earning over $250,000. Writing in the Wall Street Journal Thursday, Obama economic advisers Jason Furman and Austan Goolsbee defended Obama's proposals.

"Sen. Obama believes a focus on the middle class is appropriate in the wake of the first economic expansion on record where the typical family's income fell by almost $1,000," Furman and Goolsbee wrote.

McCain has proposed extending President Bush's tax cuts, including those of high-income earners.

Is CNN objective, or paid for by McCain? Why put as the headline on the link "Obama plan called 'economic disaster'", when all you are doing is parroting John McCain's talking point. Wouldn't a more objective headline be "McCain calls Obama's plan economic disaster"? The first sounds as if it is attributed to an authority, the latter to the rightful authority, who is far from an expert on the economy.
Does your organization need some lessons in journalistic integrity, or are you purposely shilling for McCain?

boered1   August 15th, 2008 10:42 am ET

So he wants to cut taxes on those of us making <$250,000 a year and raise it on those making over $250,000 and this is an "economic disater"? Well I guess it would be for people like McCain and his multimillionaire wife, they might actually have to pay their fair share for the work her granddaddy did!~

of course those who cannot see a black man as President or are stuck in the liar hillary's fantasy world will jump on this as an excuse not to vote for him "he is socialist" "he is a tax and spend democrat" (as opposed to a spend and borrow republican I guess) they will say and he cannot be president because he isn't ready.. meaning of course he is still black and they cannot get over their bigotry long enough to see that he has REAL plans, REAL ideas, and will make a REAL improvement.. too bad but I guess if you are still so stupid that you believe this kind of crap because you cannot fact the real world these thoughts make perfectly good sense.

auntiecoosa   August 15th, 2008 10:42 am ET

Barry Soetoro-Obama has about 300 people advising him on the economy and every one is a socialist who wants to take money from you and me (but not them) in the form of taxes and distribute our money (but not theirs) to people that they (but not us) deem "worthy" or "needy" by their (but not our) standards.

What does that mean for most US Citizens? More of our (but not their) money will be taken out of our (but not their) paychecks before we (but not them) get them. Higher taxes hurt everyone because if an employer has to pay higher taxes, he's bound to have to lay off the last people hired or perhaps the older employee who may be eligible for retirement but who needed to work until he was eligible for Medicare.

Barry Soetoro-Obama was raised by socialists. His mentors are socialists. HOW does anyone think that a socialist is going to protect YOUR income so that YOU get to spend it? And why do elitist socialists always exempt themselves from paying any taxes that they plan to give away to other "entitlement" people whom they choose???

Geoz   August 15th, 2008 10:42 am ET

"Extending Bush tax cuts"? That seems to be working really well. Good idea.

Bill in DC   August 15th, 2008 10:42 am ET

The only disaster to expect is if John McCain should get elected in November.

McCain won't win.

This is Obama's time and a time for new, fresh leadship for this country.

People can see right through McCain's lies.

Obama is seriously trying to help this country and McCain and the Repubs are acting like they are in a high school cafeteria food fight!

Here is what you are voting for …

Obama or Bush/McCain 08

Troy Pennell   August 15th, 2008 10:41 am ET

McCain’s campaign is really getting irritating. The economy is already bad and even though we have held some semblance of normalcy to what we are used to as Americans it's still bad. Whether McCain or Obama gets into office we're headed towards economic disaster. I have more faith in Obama to come up with plans that may not be as popular but better for the long term. I use long term as in 5-10 years by the way which is really short term but since McCain’s long term is the next 6 months I thought I would clarify. I don't know what happened to his campaign but 8 years ago he seemed like he was steering the ship not the RNC.

Mike   August 15th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Good, everytime I hear Democrats speak on the economy it's clear they have no idea what they are talking about. MCCain might not be an economic genius, but at least the people around him will be more savvy on the matters at hand

James in NC   August 15th, 2008 10:41 am ET

Finally. He should have done this at the start of the month. McCain has two advantages over Obama in leadership and economic plans. Obama's plan would hurt the economy at a time with growth is what is desperately needed.

Go Obama   August 15th, 2008 10:41 am ET

With McCain the rich just keep getting richer. Wake Up America!

Matt   August 15th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Way to go CNN!

I can't decide if you have some sort of right-wing bias, or if you're simply trying to make the race a little closer by constantly bashing Obama through subtle but effective use of words. After all, a close race means better ratings for your "reporters", right?

Example's of today's headlines:
"Ticker: Obama plan called 'economic disaster"…really? By who? Oh, if you actually read the article it was said by McCain. Ohhh. But of course you know most people will only read the headlines.

"New DNC Web video tries to link McCain to Abramoff scandal"…tries being the key word here. I have a feeling if this headline were for Obama it would go more like 'New Web Video links Obaman to scandal'. Of course, once you opened the article the headline would change and add that great little word, 'tries'.

It's new media like you that are putting a divide in this great country, not Republicans or Democrats.

Oh, by the way, isn't it about time for you to write an article about race? Seems like you haven't pushed that one in a few days either.

Dave in PA   August 15th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Typical McShame. I love the Obama commercials during the Olympics. They are very positive and he is not "blasting" Mccain like he is being blasted. Stay on the high road Obama. The American people are much smarter than this!

Ex-Obama Democrat for McCain   August 15th, 2008 10:40 am ET

Can CNN bring in objective economic advisers to evaluate if this is true or not.? Please NOT someone in love with Obama, like everyone else at CNN, but someone with NO political ties to either party and give us THE REAL DEAL ? It's your duty as a news source to seek and present the truth. I would like to know the truth before I vote for anyone in November.

McWhine   August 15th, 2008 10:40 am ET

McWhine's ad said "Obama's new taxes could break your family budget," the ad's announcer says. "Higher taxes. Higher gas prices. Economic disaster."

I agree!! But which families would suffer?? I know. It would be the rich oil company CEOs. It would be Bushes & Cheneys. It would Cindy & John McWhine family who owns 10 houses, with a credit card debt of more than $250,000, wearing a $520 italian made shoes, and with an expansive expending habit. Not me and my wife who earn more than $600K per year and won't mind to be taxed more. Because we are living a financial responsible life, saving more than 25% of our annual earning. got that.

Joe Reg   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

The repubs McCain are full of lies.

The real disaster are the repubs and McCain plan. The Democrats and Obama are just going to pick up the pieces and build the ecenomy from the reckage the republicans left it.

Obama/Biden 08/12.

bob   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

The rich don't have to provide their sons and daughters for our military efforts and with McCain they wil continue to see their taxes go down, meaning they won't be paying for our military efforts as well. Gosh, it must be nice to be rich.

Douglas   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

How is this "information" allowed to air so out of context?! Obama's plan would provide a $1,000 tax refund to the vast majority of people viewing the commercials, yet Obama's campaign lets these claims (which appear in every McCain ad) go unanswered. It's incredibly disingenuous to broadcast that message mostly to people for whom the tax increase does not apply, and give it no context whatsoever. It's disgusting.

Stan James Dimondale, MI   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

Typical GOP tactics as in the past. Post and print as many lies and half truths as possible. Seems to me that slander is still against the law. The GOP are the ones that are trying to spend us to death.

Tony   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

Of course McCain would say that. The man would say or do anything to get elected.

If you don't want four more years of BUSH, higher taxes, higher food, and gas prices, etc., you had better wake up America. Time has come to stop being so whiny, apathetic, and uninvolved.

If you want things to get better you had better vote Democrat or SHUT UP for the next four years.

LS West Chester, PA   August 15th, 2008 10:39 am ET

We are in the middle of an economic disaster! McSame wants to keep everything the SAME……now that would be a disaster. Obama wants to CHANGE the failed policies of the last 8 years and cut taxes for those of us making less than 250K. If you are making more than 250K, you can, or atleast should be able to, afford it.

WE NEED SERIOUS CHANGE IN THIS COUNRY!

Obama is the man to make it happen.

I've got some news for McBush, your lies are being seen in the bright light of truth.

Bravo to CNN for including the facts. The truth is Obama will not change the tax rate on working families.

Notice how McCain isn't advertising HIS good ideas. That's because he plans to continue (or even expand) the failed Bush policies that have brought us to the precipice of economic disaster.

Todd   August 15th, 2008 10:36 am ET

Another garbage headline by cnn. Completely misleading, at least say McCain say Obama plan an ecomonmic disaster

KJ, GA   August 15th, 2008 10:36 am ET

McCain needs to stop. Obama has a far better plan geared to help middle America. The only ones who will benefit from McCains plan is the rich and if he plans to continue Bush's economic plan, that will mean more of the same for the next eight years!

I'm am floored MCain has as much support as he does, he can't really offer much of anything!

We are in the midst of an economic disaster right now, and McCain's answer is to continue the Bush administration's policies. Is that what McCain means by an "economic surge?" Lest we forget that prior to Bush taking office we had a budget surplus. Now we have a record-breaking defict. Only an insane person would believe that more of the same could help.

Charles Stein   August 15th, 2008 10:35 am ET

Using the title "Obama Ad Called Economic Disaster" on the web page is misleading. There is no reference to the fact that it is McCain who is speaking. The average person browsing on your web page only sees the words "Obama" and "economic disaster" and may not realize that they are reading a political message as opposed to a practical one.

You are manipulating the news.

Dan, Ohio   August 15th, 2008 10:35 am ET

"Obama's new taxes could break your family budget,"

Seeing as Obama's plan lowers taxes on the middle income bracket and raises taxes only for those earning over $250,000, I don't see how this will break anyone's budget…

By the way, the link to this article is misleading. It read "Obama plan called 'economic disaster' ". That implies someone with credibility was criticizing it. How about retitling it "McCain continues hypocritcal attacks"?

Typical White Person   August 15th, 2008 10:35 am ET

CNN - your bias is showing again.

You forgot to mention that the Wall Street Journal's Steve Moore has done the math on Obama's tax plan. He says it will add up to a 39.6% personal income tax, a 52.2% combined income and payroll tax, a 28% capital-gains tax, a 39.6% dividends tax and a 55% estate tax.

That's not a McCain campaign spin, that's the WSJ.

Untill we invest in educating our workforce, the income gap will continue to grow. We've completely lost the low income manufacturing jobs forever, and we are beginning to lose more advanced manufacuturing jobs.

Having just recently graduated from graduate school, there are a lot of international students coming to the US to learn how to start and run companies and are taking that knowledge home with them where they already have lower cost labor.

The US will be in a world of hurt until we invest in educating our workforce.

Don't think so, McCain.

McCain has just described what he and Bush have created, which is higher taxes, higher gas prices, and economic disaster. How can McCain predict this in the future, when it already exist today.

Obama is not going to go into office and make more of a mess.

McCain and Bush have already succeeded in higher taxes, higher gas prices, and economic disaster, oh, and let's not forget all the men and woman who have died based on a lie and oil.

Kim, Charlotte, NC   August 15th, 2008 10:28 am ET

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
McCain claims in an ad released today that "Obama voted to raise taxes on people making just $42,000. He promises more taxes on small business, seniors, your life savings, your family."

But when it comes to promises, it's worth pointing out that, according to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center's analysis of both candidates' proposed plans, Obama would cut taxes for those making in the range of $38,000 to $66,000 three to almost eight times more than McCain would.

Under Obama's plan, according to the center, by 2009, those making $37,595 would see an average increase in their income of 3.6%, or a tax cut of $892; those making an average of $66,354 would see an increase in their income of 2.4%, or a tax cut of $1,042.

On the other hand, Under McCain's plan, those making $37,595 would see an increase in their income of only about 0.5%, or $113 tax cut; those making $66,354 would see only an increase of 0.7% in their income, or a tax break of $319.

Such a liar…………………

Said the beer heiress' husband   August 15th, 2008 10:28 am ET

What about your economic plan that would make the Bush tax cut for the wealthy permanent?

Do you disgruntle Hillary supporters see the warning signs? Why is McCain always talking about Senator Obama instead of what he plans to do for the country? Because he doesn't plan to do anything for us. He plans to privatize social security, continue voting against women's issues, start yet another war that we can't pay for, and institute a health (don't) care plan. (Get a clue! If your kid gets cancer, a $5000 subsidy won't do much). I pray for Senator Obama, his wife and his daughters every day. I know people are emotionally connected to their candidates. Answer this America, which political party has almost ruin our economy? Which political party has made our military as weak as it has been since America has been in existance? Which political party will ask you to elect more of the same? Now America, do you want more of the same. Even a hit dog will yell when hit enough times and hit hard enough. It's time for a "change" America. And John McCain is not that change.

Kevin Leo (Jonesboro, GA)   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Blah blah blah! I wouldn't trust McCain and his cronies to handle one single dollar of my finances, let alone the nation as a whole!

I am waiting for McCain's family values ad…maybe it will explain why his daughter totally ignores McCain's first family and her older siblings in her pathetic little book! Father of the year - NOT!

Senator John Magoo   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

LOL, how would McCain know? He knows less than Bush about the economy.

Richard Head   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Why is Obama's economic disaster going to be worse than the current one? I've worked hard all my life, I followed all the rules, and always tried to do the right thing. I put two kids through college and tried to plan for retirement wisely.

Now at 57, I am facing the very real possibility of losing my job and my home due to circumstances that I have no control over. Gas and consumer prices on essentials, such as food and clothing, are already killing me. I had to cut back on medical insurance. I can't go to the doctor for basically anything that isn't life-threatening, otherwise, I run the risk of having my health insurance cancelled. Meanwhile, some clerk at a desk decides if I'm sick enough to merrit treatment.

If I lose my job and my income, it all comes crashing down.

So explain to me, in specifics, how Obama's disastrous economic polices will make it worse. Don't BS with inane campaign rhetoric, give me hard facts.

icharliem   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

one more word .. i wish everyone would keep in mind under what administrations has this country incurred the vast majority of its debt … republicans … nixon, reagan and bush … please … who are the real tax-and-spend liberals? … no matter what they say to the contrary …

Johnny yoyo   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

I don't understand why CNN is posting TV attack ads as headlines. This goes for both John McCain and Obama.

I thought news agencies are suppose to focus on facts and not campaign tactics?

Karl   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

The McCain camp dubs Obama's Economic Plan as an "Economic Disaster." Go figure their asinine perception. Do they not recognize that we're in an Economic Disaster now?! I mean the entire United States! We can't even push back on Russia because our coffers and war machine is so depleted! We are the laughing stock in Russia and China. McCain will do and say anything to get into office. If he is so concern about the economy and have so much experience in leading, why are we in the despot we're currently experiencing?

McCain, please answer that.

jfs Memhis, Tn   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

I think that the economic disater is upon us….no thanks to Sen. McCain and his 26 yrs of experience… that has DONE NOTHING to help this "Economic Crisis". Sen. McCain with his old Washington Politics apparently failed see this mess comming on 6 or 7 years ago. When a Maverick is worth a hundred million dollars they lose touch with the average voter. Someone from a privileged background, such as John, has never had to worry about anything. His prisoner of war experience is horrific ….but…..has little to do with the NOW.

Mike In Belleville, IL   August 15th, 2008 10:27 am ET

Another McCain lie about Obama's tax plan. Seems he has no worthwhile plan of his own to offer so he attacks Obama's.

Harry   August 15th, 2008 10:26 am ET

Ummm aren't the current policies what got us to this economic disaster now?? and aren't the republicans kind of too blame since they:
deregulated speculators in 2003
cut taxes then started spending billions on a war
ballooned govt
keep corporate welfare alive and well.

I don't think obama could possibly any worse…but if he is I would become a repub…I just don't see that happening.

The republicans had 6 years to do some good and they gave us this mess we are in now.

Typical lies from the McCain campaign.

How long is the media going to give John McCain a free ride?

Mike, Syracuse, NY   August 15th, 2008 10:25 am ET

It's economics 101 that you don't raise taxes during a depression. Obama wants to raise both corporate and personal income taxes. It's insane.

Bruce Taylor, Berkeley , CA   August 15th, 2008 10:25 am ET

John McCain has received $63 million(and growing) in bundled contribution money from mainly oil companies and telecom companies, and their executives. This should be what is worrisome to Americans. He says in one of his ads that he will 'take on big oil.' He'll take them on alright - he'll take them on his back all the way to the promised land.

Vicki   August 15th, 2008 10:24 am ET

This IS true. Raising taxes has NEVER worked in the history of our country to save the economy. Anyone remember the Carter years?? Obama is another Jimmy Carter! High taxes & mmore government spending. Think about it… what did they do to try & stimulate the economy? They gave us $600 checks. If they lowered taxes so we always get more money it stands to reason that would boost the economy.

If you really want the economy to start booming again taxes need to be even lower than they are now & the government has to stop wasteful spending. Putting more money in the hands of the American people is the way to save the economy!

I think McCain has done quite well for himself this week. When the war between Russia and Georgia erupted, McCain was the first to make a statement against Russia’s overly brutal responce, which showed off his grasp of the situation and of foriegn affairs in general. Conversly, as Americans had pictures of bloody Georgian civilians being blown apart in the streets, splashed across the news - Obama was busy body surfing on the beaches of Hawaii.

I do not understand how McCain can continue to slander someone's policies with lies and get away with it. Is this the kind of person we want as POTUS? I don't think so. We want someone honest and forthright. I can even almost understand a negative campaign, if the negatives are true. However, I cannot understand someone we are supposed to respect and trust lying like this.

Senator McCain knows he cannot beat Obama fair and square. The senator from Arizona is losing his cool,,,,,which he apparently does not have much of. The Arizona hot-head has a lot of experience when it comes to cutting enemies down,,,this is the Republcan way of doing business. McCain is at a loss for words unless he has Senator Lieberman to coach him. I am older than McCain, and i more than likely could give a better speech than he is able to do. I would advise Senator McCain to retire with his rich wife and just enjoy life.

And what are McCain's economic proposals, and how will they help prevent disaster? I don't believe McCain's rhetoric - that he'll balance the budget (without any real plan to do that) and that following the current trickle-down practices will lead to recovery (when they have had at best mixed success before). McCain can't even decide if the economy is doing well (as he has often said) or poorly (as he has also said that Americans are worse off than they were 4 years ago). I see a lot of McCain twisting and distorting Obama's positions, and I don't see any realistic proposals from McCain himself.

Annoyed   August 15th, 2008 10:22 am ET

These ads are getting not only annoyingly repetitive but also out of hand. Maybe someday McCain will realize that his ads have no verifiable truth in them. WE ALL KNOW that Obama would keep the tax cuts in place for EVERYONE but those making 250K a year or higher. This campaign is driving me insane. There are no facts just stupid jabs at Obama. Can we not waste money on garbage such as this? I look forward to the day (clearly not this year) where we actually receive political information, not smack talk in advertisements. For those who say they know nothing about Obama… I know ZERO about McCain aside from the fact that he can't get enough of Obama. Okay here we go with the over the top comments. Does McCain realize that the U.S. economy is already an economic disaster thanks to the Bush Administration and the republican control congress during this first 6 years in office. Maybe flying around in that 5 million dollar jet has him jet lagged.

Just a refresher - unemployment is at a 10 high; job creation is at a 15 year low; energy cost are up 150%; retail sales are down; the auto industry is laying off whole plants; Wall Street is not recovering; the housing crisis is only in mid swing and the dollar is struggling to regain its former glory. Add to that a record deficit and you have - ECONOMIC DISASTER

Even when Jesus was born his earthly parents had gone to be counted and pay taxes. Having said that I have to remind you that any government the world over has but one simple business and that is…..to collect taxes to be able to provide services and protection to its citizens…take that away and there is no purpose of a government. Instead of wallowing in McCain’s created fear of taxation maybe you should spend some time figuring out what the government so do with your money. Take your pick and whining is not an option.

Mike M, Indiana   August 15th, 2008 10:21 am ET

McCain's economic policies are a smooth continuation of the Milton Friedman supplyside economics theory that has brought us to where we are today.
I do not feel economically better off than I was in 2001; I do not feel economically better off than I was when the current trends were initiated on 1981. I feel that the country is worse off socially and economically than it was in 1981 because of these policies.
Obama and the democrats promise to change our economic policies. Change is risk. I am willing to take that risk to avoid following the current trends.

Bob Indianapolis, IN   August 15th, 2008 10:21 am ET

Jozee   August 15th, 2008 10:21 am ET

Economic Disaster! What! This coming from a man that from his own mouth states that he knows nothing about the economy. News Flash, John, we are already deeply embroiled in AN economic disaster because of $4/gal gas, two failed wars that has caused the U.S. to be in debt to China up to our eyeballs, the sub-prime mortgage crisis, jobs being shipped overseas due to Republican allegiance to big business, and the list could go on and on. All of this has occurred during Republican rule.

Well, let's think for a moment. Barak wants to tax the snot out of big companies he deems to have made too much money, he wants to have government take over oil refineries, he'd like to have government take over health care. This will drive our taxes through the roof and send millions into bankruptcy. Barak says he'll create 5 million new jobs??? Is he starting a company of some sort? Government doesnt create jobs, companies do but not if their profits are taken away and given to whoever Barak deems as deserving. In summary, I'd have to say that the McCain add is right on target. Barak's economic plans will lead us to economic ruin.

One of McCain's sons from his first marriage draws some scrutiny in today's Wall Street Journal. "Andrew K. McCain, 46, was on the board of Silver State Bancorp for five months before he resigned on July 25 for unspecified ‘personal reasons,’ according to a news release issued by the bank at the time. A week after Mr. McCain's departure, the Henderson, Nev., company reported a loss of $62.7 million in the second quarter and said its capital — the bank's cushion to absorb losses — had eroded significantly. At the same time, Silver State announced the resignations of its chief executive and chairman."

McCain plans to continue the same disastrous policies and economic plans of this failed administration. Please people do not let this hegemonic attack cloud your vision. Only 2% of the population will receive higher taxes while all of us who make less than $250K will get tax breaks resulting in at least $1,000 more in pockets. Do not be fooled or scared out of doing what is right for you. Do not try to be one of the team when that team is not out for your benefit. These tricks are what makes a person that makes $40k and that would greatly benefit from Obama's plan vote to give more tax breaks to those that have benefited from this failed administration while allowing that person that makes $40k to be squeezed by inflation. Dont be duped, PLEASE WAKE UP. Obama's plan places more tax burden on those that are considered rich. We may all want to relate to the rich or even be rich one day but right now you should vote what is best for you.

Hey, McCain, it was the Bush economic plan that ALREADY led to an economic disaster, and you plan to continue the mindlessness of increasing spending while decreasing taxes. Unless you're going to come to my house and give my father a new job to make up for the one your policies stole from him, cram a sock in it.

Debby   August 15th, 2008 10:17 am ET

As a business owner I agree with this. Obama raising taxes on corporations and business isn't going to help our economy one bit. Clinton raised taxes in his Presidency but he eased into it and the Gulf War was over so were paying up on that. Obama's plan to raise taxes on what making 250. a year is not going to work. There are more that are making 30 to 100 grand so there isn't enough people to tax in that higher pay bracket. He will have to eventually raise taxes for everyone.

McIdiot: You're W(orthless) party is already breaking millions of families? WAKE UP MCMORON!!!

Charles in Cincinnati   August 15th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Well, if there's anything the Republicans know something about, it's causing economic disasters.

I mean, seriously, darn near anything would be better than what we have now.

Jeff   August 15th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Why would it be a disaster for the extremely wealthy to make just a bit less? I don't see how they or corporate pigs would suffer, especially the corporations. It is time for corporations to not only have the rights of individuals, but the responsibilities as well. Good corporate citizenship is possible. Other countries recognize this and keep corparate greed and power under control for the sake of real citizens.

If anything, I fear Obama's plan would not go far enough. Enough of Bush's government by the corprations and for the corporations. For the real long haul, I fear corporations more than I fear terrorists.

As long as the media is silent on McCane's untold number of shortcomings, this presidential race will continue to be a joke.

At the very least Obama has a plan. McCane's entire campaign strategy is to attack Obama. That "relieves" him from actually coming up with plans and policies of his own.

McCane's campaogn is in shambles. His biggest mistake was to hire Bush cronies. They still have allegiance to Bush, and are bent on making sure McCane will lose handily in November. McCane is so stupid that he couldn't see this, even if it were a 10,000 lb elephant.

McLiar is disgraceful!

Let me see

*more Bush tax cuts for the rich
*more breaks for corporations (including big oil and the one's who ship jobs overseas)
*more drilling and nothing but a contest for renewables
*more credit cards from China
*more 10 billion a month in Iraq
*more NAFTA,CAFTA, and any other country that wants OUR jobs
*more loopholes from guys like Gramm
*more EVERY child left behind
*more skyrocketing healthcare costs
etc

if you've enjoyed the last 8 yrs with Bush the next 4 are going be a blast!

Lynn   August 15th, 2008 10:16 am ET

As if it can get any worse than it is now!!!!! Macbush….. you are a joke!!!!

Chips   August 15th, 2008 10:16 am ET

Are we not already in a disaster? All created by you and your cronies.

Jim in Denver   August 15th, 2008 10:16 am ET

The Republican fear machine at work. They are trying to say that Obama will be increasing taxes on incomes over $42,000 per year and on small business. The truth is that they should be shaking in their boots, as their rich cronies start to finally pay their fair share. Obama's plan will impact those making over $250,000 per year (I don't think that too many of us need to worry) while benefiting middle income Americans.

Remember, it was George Bush and his Republican cronies who destroyed the balanced budget that Bill Clinton left them. Don't fall for more lies and deceptions.

For crying out loud, Bush's policies have been an economic disaster, and McSame admits he doesn't know anything about economics. Once again, Old Man Yells at Clouds. McSame might be the most negative man in America.
