Logitech Pure-Fi Mobile

REVIEW

Logitech knows something about speaker design. The company is a major player in the powered PC speaker and iPod dock market. And products like the Pure-Fi Elite and the G51 have only reinforced that position. Now the company is attempting to break into a tough segment: portable Bluetooth speakers. It's a natural next step, now that many of today's cell phones offer stereo Bluetooth capability. But most efforts to date have fallen flat. Logitech aims to change that with the $149.99 Pure-Fi Mobile, a surprisingly portable Bluetooth speaker that's perfect for the office, patio, or anywhere you want to share your mobile phone music.

Bottom Line

The Logitech Pure-Fi Mobile is a flexible and solid-sounding Bluetooth speaker. While its diminutive size precludes any true bass response, it sounds about as good as it can, given the design constraints.

Pros

Stellar battery life. Clear, transparent sound quality at moderate volumes. Includes speakerphone controls and 3.5mm auxiliary input. Plenty of accessories in the box.

Cons

Expensive. No low-end punch. Sounds muddy over Bluetooth if the source device doesn't support Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR.
